Mature Makeup

Makeup for more mature skin can also be different from makeup for younger skin as the skin changes in a lot of ways with age. It loses elasticity and becomes dryer and can move very differently than younger skin. One of the most important things to focus on whilst doing the makeup is the skin looking fresh and hydrated. The focus should either be on the eyes or the lips.
15 - Mac Prep + Prime

 - Use a primer and a serum buffed into the skin to hydrate and nourish.

 - Buff a beauty balm into the skin as the coverage isn't as heavy as a foundation meaning it won't look too harsh or sit in any fine lines. It will however counteract and neautralise any redness in the
 skin.

 - Can then place concealer and foundation strategically on the face in any areas that need a higher coverage. It's important the the concealers and foundations are a matte finish as this will look more natural on mature skin.

16 - Touche Eclat
- Use a highlighting concealer under the eyes the brighten. Something like the Yves Saint Laurent Touche Eclat

- Put a matte eyeshadow primer all over the eyes to neautralise any discoloration and make the eyshadows stay
17 - Urban Decay Naked basics

- For eyeshadows in neautral shades with satin or matte finishes. It's important to ask the model what colours they like to wear and stick to that so that the model feels comfortable with the final result.

 - Blend the eyeshadow well so that it stays soft.

 - Use some eyeshadow underneath the eyes to define them in a soft way

 - For mascara you can use a fan brush as some more mature people have small or not many eyelashes meaning the product can transfer easily. By using a small fan brush you can stop mascara transferring to the eyelids.

18 - Mac bronzer
 - Use a bronzer mixed with a face powder to soften it and make the look more natural. Put this all over the face to warm the skin.

Tinted brow gel
  - If the skin has a lot of redness don't add that back in with a blusher. Mostly stick to golden toned blushers to warm the skin.

  - Use a very finely milled highlighter so that no big chunks of glitter stick to the skin. Want to give the skin a very natural, fine shine and by using a small brush you can control where this goes.

  - Stick close to natural lip colours so lipsticks in rosey tones etc. Can use lipsticks that have a slight sheen to them as the rest of the face is matte.

 - Put a small amount of product through the brows to enhance them. However there's no need to change the shape as this can look unnatural.

Most importantly the skin needs to be kept moisturized, light as this will most effectively make the model look younger.
