Anne Boleyn's skin colour in the portrait is extremely pale with an obvious yellow undertone. Kizzy is also very pale but has a much pinker undertone. I wanted to make sure I kept Kizzy's paleness (or even make her slightly paler) but make her look as if she has a yellow undertone. The way the portrait is painted also makes her skin look very 2D which I wanted to capture in the makeup by making the colours and the highlighting and shading as flat as possible.
The first thing I tried on the right half of the face was painting the skin yellow with 303 from the Kryolan super color palette. I then powdered it and went over with a mixture of white (070) from the palette and MACs studio fix fluid in NC15 which is a foundation with a yellow undertone anyway.
I was happy with how this side of the face looked but I feel it needs to be even paler as the portrait is quite distinctively pale and it is quite a big feature of the look.
The next thing I tried was using the white (070) from the super color palette then using the MAC studio fix in NC15 over the top.

I think overall I preferred this side slightly as it is very pale with a natural yellow undertone. However I want the undertone to be a bit more yellow so I think in my formative assessment I will add a little bit of yellow to the white that I put under the foundation. I think both looks give me the 2D effect I am looking for which I am happy with. However in the assessment I will be adding a little cheek colouring and slight highlight and shadow.
